On June 25, 2025, the CAIMed Meet-Up took place at University Medical Center Göttingen under the title “AI in Personalized Medicine: Multi-Omics, Imaging & Causal Inference with Small Data.” The event brought together experts in AI, molecular medicine, and clinical research to discuss current developments and challenges at the intersection of artificial intelligence and personalized medicine.
The talks covered a broad range of topics – from trustworthy AI models in oncology and pathology to integrative omics analyses and machine learning applications in clinical registries. Highlights included presentations on spatial transcriptomics (Dr. Thomas Sterr), the integration and use of oncology data from genome sequencing to molecular tumor boards (Dr. Jürgen Dönitz), decentralized and collaborative AI development (Andreas Keil), and outcome prediction after TAVI procedures (Dr. Andreas Leha).
In addition to scientific insights, the meet-up offered valuable opportunities for interdisciplinary exchange – a key driver of progress in AI-powered precision medicine. In the closing discussion, Prof. Dr. Tim Beißbarth emphasized the importance of collaboration and the effective handling of small but complex datasets for the future of biomedical research.
