Artificial intelligence is opening new possibilities in medicine, from diagnosis and therapy to personalized patient care. At the same time, it raises fundamental ethical and legal questions. Who is responsible when AI-assisted decisions go wrong? How can trust be built between doctors, patients, and algorithms? And what roles do ethics and law play in shaping a responsible medical future?
The upcoming CAIMed Meet-up „Ethics of AI in Medicine“ will focus on these key questions and explore how ethical reflection and legal frameworks can guide the implementation of AI in healthcare. Together, we will discuss how interdisciplinary perspectives beyond technical aspects can contribute to a responsible and transparent use of AI.
We are pleased to invite you to join us on November 3, 2025, from 11:30 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. at the Gesellschaft für wissenschaftliche Datenverarbeitung mbH Göttingen (GWDG), Burckhardtweg 4, 37077 Göttingen .
Look forward to inspiring impulse talks by Dr. Thomas Grote (Universität Tübingen) and Prof. Dr. Hannah Ruschemeier (Universität Osnabrück)who will offer ethical and legal perspectives on medical AI. In the afternoon, four interactive World Cafés will invite participants to explore topics such as causality, doctor–AI–patient interaction, governance and regulation, and data ethics.
The event will conclude with short presentations and a final discussion of the World Café results.
