As part of the TransferAI series, researchers, innovators, and students came together on October 23 in Hannover to explore how artificial intelligence can support clinical decision-making and foster medical startups.
The event focused on the topic of ‘AI for clinical decision support and diagnostics – applications in cardiology and pulmonary medicine’ and featured contributions from CAIMed experts:
- Dr. Johannes Winter, who introduced CAIMed and its interdisciplinary approach to AI in medicine,
- PD Dr. Thomas Jack (MHH & CAIMed), who presented current developments in AI-based clinical decision support, and
- Leonie Thieme (MHH / CAIMed), who emphasized the role of human-centered design in developing trustworthy and usable AI systems.
The TransferAI workshop series offers practical insights, knowledge exchange, and networking opportunities for those interested in translating AI research into startups and applications. It continues throughout October with further sessions dedicated to innovation, entrepreneurship, and AI transfer.
