In the field of data sciences and computer science the UMG cooperates closely with the University's Campus Institute for Data Science (CIDAS) and is part of the Lower Saxony Research Center for Artificial Intelligence and Causal Methods in Medicine (CAIMed). CAIMed links locations in Lower Saxony locations in methodical AI research, data-intensive medicine, biomedical informatics and basic medical research to form a unique research network for AI and personalized medicine.
The appointment is initially for a period of three years. If the CAIMed network is extended for a second funding phase, the junior research group will be extended for a further three years. CAIMed is creating 13 interdisciplinary junior research groups in the clusters “AI and Semantics”, “AI and Decisions”, “AI and Drugs” and “AI and Signals” to address current research and application issues.
The junior research group is the head of a working group in the CAIMed cluster “AI and Semantics” with a focus on collaborative development and validation of AI based on questions of digital image diagnostics using blockchain-based technologies. technologies. Your tasks
- Coordination of medically motivated projects and software development
- Development of collaborative digital pathology data collections with partners for cancer diagnostics and therapy
- Validation of diagnostic AI procedures in national and international studies
- Methodical development of AI-based analysis procedures
- Involvement in university teaching and supervision of theses and dissertations
Your profile
- Outstanding doctorate and research experience in bioinformatics, computer science, statistics, natural sciences or a related subject with a strong focus on the quantitative analysis of biomedical image data
- In-house development and validation of distributed AI applications in coordination with the Chair of Digital Pathology
- Experience with project-oriented software development, evaluation of image data-based studies in biomedicine and experience with blockchain technologies are advantageous
- Integrative personality with an interest in interdisciplinary teamwork
