His expertise in symbolic AI research and his experience in data integration and analysis make him an important member of the team. In his position as Director of the TIB Leibniz Information Centre for Science and Technology, he focuses on developing innovative approaches for the organization of scientific contributions such as the Open Research Knowledge Graph. Research findings are currently still mostly \"hidden\" deep in scientific publications, so AI can only support us to a very limited extent.               <div class=\"\">\n                    <p>With regard to the organization of medical research knowledge, the biggest challenge is to further develop or change the culture of publication. In medicine, but also in science in general, we are still working with very outdated methods of knowledge organization, which would be comparable to using maps as PDFs for navigation instead of modern navigation systems, ordering products from PDF scans of mail-order catalogs instead of modern e-commerce platforms, or reading scanned encyclopaedia pages instead of using Wikipedia.<\/p>\n
